Bayer Leverkusen Sack Ex-Man Utd Manager, Erik Ten Hag After Three Games
Bayer Leverkusen has parted ways with former Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag after two Bundesliga games in charge of the club.
Posting the news, Fabrizio Romano wrote on X post on Monday, “Erik ten Hag has just been sacked by Bayer Leverkusen. A decision was made by the club’s hierarchy this morning, and the manager was informed right now.”
Ten Hag won his first match in charge – a 4-0 victory over fourth-tier SG in the first round of the German Cup.
He, however, oversaw a troubled start to the new league season. Leverkusen lost their opening game, a 2-1 home defeat by Hoffenheim, and then let a two-goal lead slip against 10-man Werder Bremen this weekend.
The Dutchman was sacked last season by Manchester United with the club replacing him with Ruben Amorim.
