SCOBA Calls For Synergy To Improve Education In Osun
The Old Boys Association of St. Charles Grammar School (SCOBA)-Diaspora has advocated a synergy among the state government, educational authorities, and àlumni associations of secondary schools in the state to improve the standard of education in Osun.
Members of the association made the call after their convention, tagged “Charleans In Diaspora Convention 2025,” held in Texas, United States of America.
The association maintained that a deliberate policy made to harmonise the contributions of all alumni bodies, educational authorities, and government will go a long way in allowing secondary school students to perform better in their studies.
SCOBA-Diaspora convention, which attracted participants from Africa, the Americas, Europe, and Asia, also stressed the need for the nation’s federal government to consistently review the national educational curriculum to reflect the dynamics of societal needs for the development of science and technology.
The convention featured the election of a new executive to lead the association into a new era.
In his remarks, the newly elected president of the association, Charlean Mudashiru Adeoṣun promised to improve on the achievements of his predecessors.
Earlier, the immediate past president of the Association, Engineer Ghazal Ajijolaiya informed the gathering that his team had repaired and equipped the iconic AFOLALU building in their old school, paid the WAEC and NECO fees of students, gave palliatives during COVID-19, and motivated students and teachers alike at St Charles Grammar School, Osogbo through the association’s Diaspora achievements awards.
Other officers elected at the conference are; Charleans Adesoji Oderinde as Vice Chairman (America), Oyekanmi Loremikan Vice Chairman (Europe), Kazeem Adetunji (General Secretary), Kayode Ajayi (Treasurer) and Kayode Fagbemi (Public Relations).
