Tinubu Uses And Dumps Politicians – Marafa
Former Zamfara Central Senator and ex-All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Kabiru Marafa, has accused President Bola Tinubu of exploiting politicians for political gains and discarding them afterwards.
Marafa, who represented Zamfara in the Senate between 2011 and 2019, made the claim during an interview on Channels Television on Monday.
He recalled that Tinubu won more votes than any other presidential candidate in Zamfara and Jigawa during the 2023 election, the only two states he secured out of seven in the northwest.
Despite this, Marafa lamented that Zamfara was only given a minister of state position, which he described as an insult to the state’s contribution.
“The person was a twelve-year member of the Federal House of Representatives and served as the governor of the state for four years. We felt slighted by that position. Regardless of who it is given to. We felt the efforts we put into securing victory for the president deserve a cabinet portfolio for Zamfara State.
“Compare this with Lagos State. Tinubu lost Lagos State, and how many slots did Lagos get? Take Ogun for instance, how many slots did they get,” he said.
The former lawmaker further cited the cases of Abdullahi Ganduje and Nasir El-Rufai, who he said were sidelined after playing key roles in Tinubu’s presidential victory.
“Looking at the treatment meted out on Abdullahi Ganduje, Nasir El-Rufai and me, we are now convinced that Mr President is a user and dump leader. That is the truth about it. Anybody can call me any name but I am in politics to get position and impact the lives of my people,” Marafa said
