Sir Kenny Elected As OSPOLY SUG President As Students Elect New Union Leaders

The Independent Students Electoral Commission (ISEC) of Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, has declared Ajayi Kehinde Emmanuel, popularly known as Sir Kenny, as the new President of the Students Union Government (SUG) for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Sir Kenny clinched the top seat after securing 914 votes to defeat his rivals, Oladeji Israel (Issy), who garnered 412 votes, and Ilori Stephen (Analog), who polled 219 votes.

The ISEC Chairman, Soyinka Abraham, made the official announcement at the commission’s situation room shortly after the polls were concluded.

The exercise was witnessed by the Rector of the institution, Mr. Kehinde Alabi, alongside other top officials, including the Deputy Rector, Dr. Gboyega Oyeleke; Registrar, Mr. Oloyede Abiodun; Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Tope Abiola; and the Director of Media, Publicity and Protocols, Mr. Bayo Fadeji.

Other elected members of the new Students Union Executive include Abdulsalam Oyatoye, who emerged Vice President with 875 votes against Emmanuel Olarunnisola’s 445, while Anuoluwapo Odudu clinched the General Secretary’s seat with 856 votes, defeating Abdulquadri Adeleke, who had 372 votes.

In other positions, Fridaos Bello was returned as Treasurer unopposed with 1,074 votes, while Wariths Adeniyi also went unchallenged as Welfare Director with 967 votes.

The Public Relations Officer slot went to Lateef Akinloye, who polled 979 votes without an opponent, while the Sports Director, Moses Adeboye, secured 940 votes to floor Olayemi Sekoni and Olawale Adesoji, who had 57 and 51 votes respectively.

The Assistant General Secretary’s seat was clinched by Mariam Jimoh with 628 votes against Abdullahi Olagunju’s 388, while the Social Director, Tomiwa Aderounmu, emerged unopposed with 976 votes.

Oni Joshua, who stood unopposed, was elected as Financial Secretary with 1,018 votes, while Idris Kolapo, also unopposed, became Auditor with 953 votes.

The newly elected executives are expected to be inaugurated in due course to commence their duties in leading the affairs of the union for the next academic session.
