A councillor representing Kinkiba Ward in Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Sunusi Hashim, has appointed 18 Special Advisers.

Hashim said in an interview in Zaria that the appointments were in line with his vision for the inclusiveness of the grassroots community in governance.

He noted that his ward, “Kinkiba”, is one of the most backward among other wards of the local area in terms of human capacity, thereby providing them an avenue of participation to promote community engagement.

Hashim explained that the appointments were distributed among four zones in the ward headed by village heads, namely Tambi, Marwa, Fagachi and Kinkiba.

“I am not relying on what I will receive as salary from the local government to settle the wages of my appointees, as I am engaged in personal business that can accommodate their expenses.”

“My whole target was to bring my people closer to the government through official participation and engagement,” he said.
