100-Level Student Found Dead In Boyfriend’s Apartment
A 100-level student of Taraba State University (TSU), Jalingo, identified as Comfort Jimtop, has been found dead in her boyfriend’s apartment under unclear circumstances.
The deceased, who hailed from Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, was a student of the Department of Mass Communication at TSU. Her body was reportedly discovered on Friday afternoon.
Sources said the police recovered empty bottles of alcoholic drinks beside the bed where the student was found dead.
It was further gathered that there are about 15 tenants in the compound where the incident occurred. However, all the tenants, including the owner of the room where the body was discovered, allegedly fled the premises.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Taraba State, ASP Leshen James, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview with Daily Trust.
He explained that the deceased’s boyfriend, identified as Emmanuel Shata, is also a student of TSU. According to him, when police officers arrived at the scene, they found the apartment deserted.
ASP James added that investigations have commenced and the police are currently on the trail of Shata and the other fleeing tenants.
