Adeleke Distributes Vehicles, Instructional Materials To Osun Public Schools

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Wednesday, flagged off the distribution of vehicles and instructional materials to public Primary and Junior Secondary school students in Osun State.

The initiative, which was done through the Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, according to Adeleke, was to secure the future of Osun children through quality education.

The vehicles and materials included one Sienna bus, eight mini-buses, 31 motorcycles, textbooks, computer sets, solar equipment, and school diaries, among others.

Speaking during the flag off held at SUBEB conference hall, Abeere, Adeleke who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Teslim Igbalaye, said education remains a top priority of his administration.

According to Adeleke “Today’s flag-off marks the distribution of new instructional materials across our schools. These include exercise books, notebooks, chalks, markers, textbooks in core subjects, and over 12,000 sets of furniture. With this, the burden of pupils carrying chairs from home is now history.

“Education remains a top priority of our administration. Since assuming office, we have consistently invested in raising the quality of learning in our schools. With your support, we have made significant progress.

“Between 2022 and 2024, our government; Paid counterpart funds to UBEC from 2019 to 2024, which previous administrations left unattended. We’ve refurbished over 400 classrooms in 139 schools. Supplied more than 12,500 sets of furniture for pupils, students, and teachers.

“Earlier this year, we also secured approval for the 2024 UBEC/SUBEB Action Plan, now under implementation. It covers the construction of 333 classrooms, boreholes in schools, toilets, perimeter fencing, ICT facilities, monitoring vehicles and motorbikes, as well as additional furniture for teachers and learners.”
