Police in Taraba State have launched a manhunt for a security guard, Amos Kini, accused of abducting his employer’s two-year-old son, Ivan Okosun, and demanding a ransom of ₦5 million for his release.

Reports indicate that the boy’s mother, Mrs. Ujuwan Okosun, raised the alarm late Sunday after discovering that the guard had fled with her son and her mobile phone.

The suspect later used the same phone to contact Mr. Okosun, the boy’s father, to demand the ransom.

Confirming the incident, security sources told Daily Post that detectives swiftly visited the scene and arrested Aruna Dauda, identified as the guarantor who stood surety for the fleeing guard.

“The command has intensified efforts to track down the suspect and rescue the child unhurt. Investigation is ongoing,” a police source stated.

The police have urged residents of Taraba State to remain vigilant and provide timely information that could help in apprehending the suspect and curbing criminal activities in the state.
