Bandits Abduct Police Officer In Kwara Community
A Nigerian police officer attached to the Lade Division in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, Mr. Ezra, has been reportedly kidnapped by armed bandits.
The officer was reportedly abducted early Thursday morning while returning from official duty at Patigi General Hospital to his base in Lade.
The latest incident has further heightened concerns over growing insecurity in some local governments in Kwara State.
The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the development.
She said the motorcycle of the abducted officer was found along the road after he was abducted while returning from official duty to Lade, his residential base.
The spokesperson said efforts are ongoing to rescue the officer from captivity and apprehend the criminals.
