2026: Trouble In Osun APC As Members Allege Exclusion From Party List For Supporting Omisore

There seems to be a sharp division within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State over who becomes the party’s flagbearer for the 2026 governorship election.

The division, according to findings by OSUN DEFENDER, is believed to be between key stakeholders of the party who are supporting the aspiration of the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Mr. Bola Oyebamiji and loyalists of the immediate past APC National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore.

A video currently trending on social media showed some disenchanted members of the party in Ilesa West protesting their alleged exclusion from the list of appointments made by the Yes/No Chairmen who reportedly received the withheld seven-month allocation last week.

The protesters, believed to be in support of Omisore, accused the Executive Director, Project Implementation of the Federal Housing Authority, Remi Omowaiye, of masterminding the alteration of the list of Executive Assistants, Personal Assistants and Supervisory Councillors appointed by the chairmen.

They demanded that their names be added to the list, threatening to diminish his reputation in Ijesa politics.

Omowaiye, a former Commissioner for Works under the administration of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, is a staunch supporter of Oyebamiji, also known as AMBO.

“Omowaiye has altered our names, he has removed it from the list. It will not be well with those who removed our names. Whoever did it will die a disgraceful death. Omowaiye should return the names he removed.

“Omowaiye said they should remove our names because we are not supporting AMBO. We will deal with him.”

The development comes less than 48 hours before Omisore’s official declaration to contest the APC guber ticket.

Since the former party scribe entered the race, there has been a clash between supporters of the duo, with various social media posts suggesting an implosion within the APC in Osun.

Feelers from the rank and file of the party indicate that Oyebamiji’s aspiration is fully backed by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Oyetola.
