1. Funeral Turns Tragic As Security Guard Kills 14-Year-Old Boy In Osun

A funeral ceremony in Ilesa, Osun State, turned tragic on Saturday when a 14-year-old boy was shot dead after a security guard on duty allegedly fired shots in the direction of attendees.

Confirming the incident in an interview with PUNCH on Sunday, the spokesperson of the Osun State Police Command, Abiodun Ojelabi, said two people had been arrested in connection with the shooting, which occurred at the Oke Ero area of Ilesa.

2. JUSUN Strike Stalls Trial Of Alleged ₦9.7m Poultry Fraudster In Osun

The ongoing industrial action by the Osun State chapter of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has stalled the trial of an alleged fraudster, Adeleke Adeniran, who was accused of defrauding a poultry farmer of ₦9.7 million in Osogbo.

Adeniran was alleged to have obtained 1,500 live chickens worth ₦9.7 million from a poultry farmer, Tijani Ahmed, under false pretence in December 2024.

3. ‎CVR: Borno, Osun Lead As INEC Recorded Over 7.4m Pre-Registrants In Eight Weeks

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that a total of 7,415,760 Nigerians completed their online pre-registration during week eight of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise, which covered the period from October 6 to 12, 2025.
