BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu to Represent Himself as Lawyers Withdraw
Senior lawyer Kanu Agabi, who led Nnamdi Kanu’s legal team, has applied to withdraw from representing the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
At Thursday’s court session, Agabi stated that Kanu has chosen to defend himself in the case. All the Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) on the defence team have also stepped down, a move Kanu confirmed in court.
Kanu informed the court that he would represent himself for now but may hire a lawyer later. When the judge asked if he should be assigned legal counsel, he declined.
Speaking in his defence, Kanu argued that the court lacks jurisdiction to try him.
