The Omoluabi Progressives, a group within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has accused members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of firing gunshots in front of its secretariat, the Oranmiyan Building, located in the Aregbe area of Osogbo, on Tuesday morning.

In a statement signed by its Publicity and Organising Secretary, Abosede Oluwaseun, on Wednesday, the group condemned what it described as “the same old inept, disturbing but familiar tactics of the APC in seeking power.”

According to the statement, some APC members allegedly marched from Freedom Park through Aregbe area and shot sporadically in front of the Oranmiyan Building, where members of the Omoluabi Progressives were engaged in their routine activities.

The group noted that the Oranmiyan Building had long played a significant role in Osun’s political history, serving as the APC’s base during its electoral victories in 2007, 2014, and 2018, before the party eventually lost control of the state.

It further recalled that the Tuesday incident was not the first of its kind, alleging that suspected thugs had previously attacked the same building on November 18, 2021, and February 3, 2022, when arsonists attempted to set it ablaze during meetings of The Osun Progressives (TOP), a group loyal to former Governor Rauf Aregbesola.
