Genocide: Are You Competent? – Nigerians Ask As Old Tinubu’s Tweet Slamming Jonathan Over Christians Killing Resurfaces
An old tweet of President Bola Tinubu condemning the killings of Christian worshippers in Nigeria has resurfaced following the designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern,” by the United States.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that President Donald Trump, on Friday night, announced in a Truth Social post later shared on the White House’s X handle said: “Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.
“I am hereby making Nigeria a ‘Country of particular concern’ — But that is the least of it.”
Citing alarming figures, the US president added, “When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done!”

The announcement has generated reactions with loyalists of the president claiming opposition members were behind the development.
However, netizens have brought out the old tweet by President Tinubu to counter his loyalists’ claim.
Tinubu had, on January 29, 2014, questioned the competence of former President Goodluck Jonathan to protect Nigerians.
Tinubu in the post strongly condemned the slaughtering of Christians in the country.
He wrote, “The slaughtering of Christian worshippers is strongly condemnable. It calls to question the competence of Jonathan to protect Nigerians.”
