Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has appeared in a new video confirming his release, just hours after fellow actor Yomi Fabiyi announced it on Instagram.

The clip, which began circulating on Saturday, shows Baba Ijesha sitting inside a vehicle while speaking briefly on the phone in Yoruba.

He is heard saying, “Apase, I’m out… I just came out. I want to relax. I just want to leave here, so I decided to inform you. Thank you for supporting me. I will call you.”

Fabiyi had earlier shared the news on Friday evening, celebrating Baba Ijesha’s regained freedom.

He described the development as a major moment for the actor, while emphasising that he does not condone child abuse.

“You are now officially free and out. Baba Ijesha is not just back but better,” Fabiyi wrote.

“I am also happy you were cleared by the appeal court of ever having sex with or defiling any child/minor. The 7-year-old story is a charade. We live in a terrible world, where sentiments and wickedness rise above the rule of law and truth. We never and will never condone any form of sexual abuse, especially against children.”

Fabiyi also made several claims regarding the original case and those involved.

Baba Ijesha’s reappearance has sparked renewed reactions online, with many Nigerians sharing and commenting on the video.

The actor has not issued a formal statement beyond the clip, stating only that he wants to rest and will reach out to supporters later.

Baba Ijesha first drew national attention in 2021 after his arrest over allegations involving the assault of a minor.

His trial, conviction, and subsequent legal appeals became one of the most widely followed cases in the Nigerian entertainment sector.
