PDP Crisis Deepens As Wike-led Faction Expels Makinde, Bala Mohammed, Others
The internal crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) took a dramatic twist on Tuesday as a faction of the party led by Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike expelled three Governors – Seyi Makinde (Oyo State), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi State), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara State) as well as former PDP Board of Trustees Chairman, Senator Bode George.
The faction also suspended some key figures of the party for anti-party activities. Those suspended included; former Board of Trustees Chairman, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Senator Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, Deputy National Chairman (South), Taofeek Arapaja and among others.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the PDP, led by Acting National Chairman Alhaji Mohammed Abdulrahman, also dissolved the State Executive Councils of Bauchi, Oyo, Zamfara, Yobe, Lagos, Edo, and Ekiti States, citing anti-party activities and disregard for court judgments.

The expulsion and dissolution were ratified at the 103rd NEC meeting of the party, held at the national secretariat in Abuja.
Osun Defender reported earlier that tension escalated at the PDP national headquarters in Abuja, as Policemen fired teargas to disperse supporters of rival factions.
The tensions arose when the Nyesom Wike-backed faction and the newly formed National Working Committee (NWC) led by Kabiru Turaki scheduled separate meetings at Wadata Plaza on the same day.
