NYSC Members Should Be Trained for Security Duties — Pastor Ashimolowo
The lead pastor of Kingsways International Christian Centre (KICC), Matthew Ashimolowo, has urged that all National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members receive training to assist in national security operations.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Thursday, Ashimolowo said such training would help tackle banditry, terrorism, and other criminal activities across the country.
He also called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s efforts in improving security, stressing that citizen involvement is crucial for success.
“Every African country admires Nigeria. We are tough, strong, fearless, and bold. With leadership determined to make a difference, Nigerians should stand behind the president,” he said.
On the topic of state police, Ashimolowo warned that while it could be useful, it risks being misused as a political tool to intimidate citizens.
