Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, has responded to the resignation of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

On Tuesday, Davido shared the news on his X page with the brief caption, “Jeje…”, which many interpreted as a call for calm amid the political developments.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that Governor Adeleke’s departure from the party emerged on Monday night through a resignation letter dated November 4, 2025, addressed to the chairman of Ward 2 in Ede North. He cited the ongoing crisis within the PDP as the reason for his exit.

In the letter titled “Resignation of my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP),” the governor wrote, “Due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my Membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect. I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (Represented Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.”
