Ekiti 2026: ADC Will Unseat Gov Oyebanji – Bejide
The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Ambassador Dare Bejide, has identified poor leadership as the root cause of Nigeria’s challenges, stressing that focused leadership, strong commitment and proper planning can reposition the country.
Bejide urged members of the party to remain united and work tirelessly to dislodge the ruling party in the 2026 governorship election.
According to him, although unseating an incumbent government is not easy, the ADC is determined and strategically positioned to win the Ekiti governorship seat in 2026.
“We will work hard to remove the present government and install an ADC-led government in Ekiti in 2026,” he said.
Speaking on insecurity, Bejide stated that governments at all levels must prioritise job creation, particularly for youths, noting that unemployment remains a major driver of crime and violence across the country.
He recommended the establishment of skill acquisition centres in every part of the country and called on governments to make agriculture more attractive to young people as a means of boosting productivity and reducing social vices.
Bejide made the remarks at the ADC Secretariat along Basiri Road, Ado-Ekiti, shortly after returning from Abuja, where he received his certificate of return as the party’s governorship candidate.
Commenting on the recent attack on the party’s secretariat, he condemned the act, describing it as a sign that the ADC is seen as a serious threat by the ruling party. He confirmed that the incident had been reported to security agencies in Abuja.
On the issue of state allocations, he advised leaders to avoid mismanagement, corruption and maladministration, insisting that prudent use of resources is key to solving Nigeria’s problems.
Bejide also commended fellow contestants in the ADC primary election who came out to welcome him back to the state.
Party chieftains present at the event included Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, ADC Chairman; Mr. Ilesanmi; Hon. Segun Akinwumi; Hon. Gboyega Aribisogun, Publicity Secretary; and Hon. Akin Omole, Chairman of the organising committee.
