Accord Party Vows to Petition Edeachi to LPDC Over Alleged Fabricated Suit, Affirms Unity

The Accord Party has faulted a suit filed by one Oliver Bitrus and represented by his counsel, Daniel Edeachi, describing the case as misleading and based on false claims about the party’s national leadership.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Caretaker Chairman of the Accord Party in Osun State, Pastor Victor Akande, accused Edeachi of professional misconduct and said the party would petition the Legal Practitioners’ Disciplinary Committee (LPDC) over his alleged failure to conduct due diligence before filing the suit marked FCT/CV/4955/2025.

Akande dismissed reports that a Federal High Court had recognised Prof. Chris Imumolen as the National Chairman of the party, describing such claims as fictitious. He also refuted the alleged suspension of Chief Okey Nwosu as Deputy National Chairman, stating that Nwosu never occupied such a position in the party.

According to him, a previous suit relating to the party’s leadership was dismissed by the court last year and was never appealed.

“These are facts that ought to have been verified before filing documents capable of misleading the court,” Akande said.

Reaffirming the party’s unity and preparedness for the 2026 Osun governorship election, he disclosed that its National Executive Council had recently constituted a caretaker committee for Osun State, approved guidelines for the primary election, and set up an electoral committee for the exercise.

He added that the NEC also passed a vote of confidence in the National Working Committee led by the party’s National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem.

Akande urged members of the party to remain focused and undistracted, insisting that Accord remains united ahead of the primary election.
