Nigeria’s entertainment space is brimming with emotional twists, heated debates, bold new ventures and historic wins. From Annie Macaulay’s surprising online move to the soaring costs of Detty December shows, Kizz Daniel’s brother’s latest project, and Champz’s record-breaking feat, here are the biggest stories dominating conversations this week:

Annie Macaulay Reverts Instagram Name to ‘Idibia’ Amid 2Face’s Ongoing Marital Drama

Nollywood actress Annie Macaulay has sparked fresh conversations after reverting her Instagram name to Idibia, her estranged husband 2Face’s surname.

The change came on Thursday, raising eyebrows as it coincided with escalating tensions between 2Face and his new wife, Natasha Osawaru. Just hours before Annie’s update, a video surfaced showing the singer being arrested and handcuffed in London during a heated confrontation with Natasha.

More drama unfolded during Daddy Freeze’s Instagram livestream, where 2Face was assaulted while on camera. Moments before the screen went dark, he was heard asking Natasha, “What is your problem?”, seconds before she grabbed his phone.

Annie had previously dropped the Idibia name in March 2025 after 2Face announced their separation and confirmed his new relationship with the Edo-born lawmaker, Natasha.

Detty December: Fans React as Ticket Prices for Asake, Davido & Rema Cross ₦250,000

Detty December is officially in full swing, but many concertgoers are shocked as ticket prices for major shows have reached unprecedented levels.

This year, Asake’s December 24 show is priced at ₦300,000, while Rema (Dec 21) and Davido (Dec 25) are going for ₦250,000 each. Others like Olamide (Dec 23) and Flavour (Dec 22) are selling at ₦120,000.

The sharp rise has ignited a major debate. While some believe the pricing reflects Afrobeats’ growth into a premium, globally competitive industry, others say Nigerian fans are being shut out of concerts they once enjoyed freely.

With stars like Busta Rhymes and Juma Jux added to the Detty December Fest lineup, conversations continue around whether premium experiences should come at the expense of inclusivity.

Uthy described the lounge as a blend of his entertainment experience and his long-held passion for creating vibrant social spaces. The grand opening is scheduled for December 17, with Kizz Daniel expected to make an appearance.
