A Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of three men – Ayeni Oluwasola (41), Tope Agbaje (48) and Godwin Pius Anawo (58) at the Ado-Ekiti Correctional Centre over alleged armed robbery.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that there was probable cause to remand the defendants over allegations of conspiracy to commit robbery, armed robbery against one Ogunsakin Funmilayo, and receiving stolen property.

According to him, the offences are contrary to and punishable under Sections 314, 321(2)(a) & (b) and 343 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021. The alleged offences were said to have been committed within the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District on or before 13 August 2025 at about 7:00 a.m.

Inspector Oriyomi informed the court that the original case file had been forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice and urged the court to grant his application for remand.

The defendants, represented by Barrister Richard Adeola, did not have their pleas taken.

Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun ordered their remand and adjourned the matter to 9 January 2026 for mention.
