Ned Nwoko Says Regina Daniels Must Undergo Rehab Before Seeing Children
Senator Ned Nwoko has refuted recent social media posts by his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, regarding their children, insisting they have not been hidden from her and that her absence has been voluntary.
In a statement shared on his X account by his communications team on Tuesday, Nwoko described Daniels’ posts as “misleading and inconsistent with long-established family practice.”
He added that publicly sharing moments involving the children has never been unusual or controversial within the family.
“The suggestion that Regina has been prevented from being present in the children’s lives is equally misleading,” the statement read. Nwoko emphasised that the children have always been cared for in an environment prioritising routine, emotional balance, and stability.
“Children deserve a parent who is emotionally present, mentally sound, and sober most of the time. This is not an unreasonable expectation; it is the minimum standard of care any parent owes their children,” he added.
The statement followed Daniels’ Monday post in which she spoke about the pain of being separated from her children, saying no mother could find peace under such circumstances.
She added that despite the challenges, she remained committed to seeing her children soon.
Nwoko highlighted that the court has already addressed these issues, ruling in his favour and directing Daniels to undergo drug rehabilitation and be assessed by the Abuja Social Welfare Department before access to their children, Munir (5) and Khalifa (3), can be restored.
The matter is scheduled for further hearing on 4 February 2026.
He urged Daniels to comply with court directives, warning that her online posts risk using the children “as emotional shields to deflect from unresolved personal issues.”
He stressed that the “most responsible and meaningful step remains compliance with the court-directed rehabilitation process and a demonstrated commitment to sustained personal wellness.”
“It is our hope that this window of quietude will be used for healing and recovery, rather than generating another cycle of online attention,” the statement concluded.
