Ejigbo came alive on Wednesday as thousands of supporters trooped out in songs, chants, and jubilation to welcome their son, Dr. Najeem Salaam, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate for Osun State, on his first homecoming visit since clinching the party’s ticket.

The ancient town stood still as residents poured into the streets, creating an electrifying atmosphere that underscored rising expectations and a growing appetite for political change ahead of the 2026 governorship election.

During a courtesy visit to the palace, Dr. Najeem Salam expressed deep gratitude to the people of Ejigbo for their unwavering loyalty and support over the years, describing the massive turnout as a powerful signal that the people are ready to reclaim Osun State.

He declared confidently that the time has come for Ejigbo to produce a governor, insisting that the ADC represents the credible platform to deliver victory.

In his remarks, the Ogiyan of Ejigbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Omowonuola Oyeyode Oyesosin II, offered royal blessings and expressed strong optimism about the journey ahead, noting that the opportunity that eluded the town in 2018 would be fully realised this time.

The monarch cited the unity, acceptance, and goodwill surrounding Dr. Najeem Salam as clear indicators that Ejigbo and the ADC are firmly on the path to success.

The overwhelming show of support, observers noted, further positions the ADC as a major force in the forthcoming election, with momentum building across Osun State behind a candidate widely regarded as credible and dependable.

Earlier, Dr. Salaam had appealed to supporters via social media to shun abusive or insulting rhetoric against political opponents, reaffirming his commitment to issue-based politics, peaceful engagement, and a campaign anchored on ideas rather than hostility.
