Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has regained her freedom after spending two days in police custody following her arrest in connection with a public dispute involving Lagos-based cleric Pastor Chris Okafor.

Ogala was taken into custody on Saturday and released on Monday, ending days of online concern over her safety.

She confirmed her release in a post shared on her Instagram page.

Her arrest was first revealed during a livestream on Saturday, where Ogala spoke with an online interviewer and disclosed that police officers were at her residence.

She questioned how the officers gained access to her home, sparking alarm among viewers.

The interviewer repeatedly asked if the officers had presented a warrant and urged her to keep her phone connected.

The incident drew widespread reactions on social media, with Nigerians and public figures expressing concern for her welfare.

Media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, said he had spoken with Ogala and received evidence related to her dispute.

He warned that her safety should be guaranteed and threatened to release the materials if she was not returned home promptly.

OSUN DEFENDER reported that the dispute began earlier in the week after Ogala accused Pastor Okafor, founder of Grace Nation Ministry, of breaking a marriage promise and marrying another woman, Pearl, on December 16 in Lagos.

Ogala shared emotional videos on social media claiming the relationship lasted for years and caused her emotional distress.

She also said she possessed private materials to support her claims, though some posts have since been deleted.

Comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate Dee One confirmed her arrest on social media, adding that Ogala would now have to pursue her claims through legal channels.

Following her release, Ogala expressed gratitude to human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore and Martins Otse for their intervention.

As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the circumstances surrounding her arrest and release.
