Police Arrest 50 Ekpoma Protesters
Over 50 people who took part in last Saturday’s protest in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area, have been arrested.
The suspects were apprehended at different locations across Ekpoma.
During the protest, several shops were looted, and the Palace of the Onojie of Ekpoma was vandalised.
The detainees were transported in a black maria to Edo State, where they are awaiting arraignment.
Relatives of the suspects were seen loitering around the court premises.
As of press time, security personnel had cordoned off the courtroom, preventing journalists from gaining entry.
