Chief Imam Of Ilorin Dies At 75
Chief Imam of Ilorin in Kwara State, North-Central Nigeria, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Saliu, has died at the age of 75.
His death was confirmed on Monday by a source within the Emir of Ilorin’s palace.
The revered Islamic scholar died after decades of devoted service to Islam and the Ilorin Emirate.
Born in 1950 in Ilorin, Sheikh Saliu dedicated his life to Islamic scholarship and religious leadership.
He was appointed the 12th Chief Imam of the Ilorin Emirate in 1983, a position he faithfully held for more than 40 years.
