A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress Hon. Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, has been accused of engaging in activities capable of destroying the party in Obokun Local Government.

In a petition by leaders and executives of APC in Ward 01, Obokun Local Government, the former lawmaker who represented Obokun state constituency, was accused of using the name of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola to perpetrate the alleged illegalities.

In a petition to the state chairman of the party, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, the national secretary of the party, Senator Ajibola Basiru and others, the APC members alleged Oyintiloye of not contributing to the development and affairs of the party in Obokun for years.

The petition, which was signed by the secretary of the ward, Rasheed Adeyemo and 22 others, alleged that Oyintiloye has been holding a factional ward meeting which it said, threatens the unity of the APC in the local government.

Highlighting some of the alleged retrogressive activities of the APC chieftain, said, “He has been divisive, holding a factional ward meeting with four executives, which
threatens party unity in Ibokun ward. Absence from ward meetings/activities for over three years, indicates a lack of
engagement and contribution. No financial commitment to the ward, despite appointments held.

“Personal takeover of the EA slot and fund (N4.4M) meant for the ward leaders via his PA’s name Oyedele Fakulujo whose immediate blood brother Fakulujo Kayode was also made a Supervisor and got N6M.

“He has consistently clashed with Ibokun indigene, leading some to leave the party
and others to stop financing party activities.
We find it perplexing and unacceptable that he has hijacked the slot meant for our ward leaders-a position allocated to leaders in every other ward.”

The APC members urged the leadership of the party to call the former lawmaker to order, warning that they could not predict what the current dissatisfaction among ward members may lead to.

“As our father and a leader in whom we have trust, we respectfully request your
urgent action to address and curtail this excessive and arrogant use of position which
can lead to escalated expressions of discontent from the ward constituents.

“He should also be cautioned on often invoking His Excellency’s name, claiming ‘Oga sope’.
Thereby falsely presenting our Honourable Minister of Marine, a respected figure, as supporting his actions against us.

“Given his lack of engagement and contribution to Ward | Ibokun’s activities, we urge you to intervene and prevail on Hon Bosun Oyintiloye to release the position
rightfully belonging to our ward leadership. We are concerned about the fairness of
allowing this situation to continue, especially when leaders in other wards benefit from similar allocations,” the APC members added.
