Pedestrian Reportedly Killed In Ilesa Road Accident
A yet-to-be-identified pedestrian has reportedly lost his life in an accident which occurred on Monday afternoon in Ilesa, Osun State.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred around Akewusola axis, Okesa, Ilesa, around 4 pm.
In a video obtained by OSUN DEFENDER, eyewitnesses said the accident occurred after the tyre of a Mercedes-Benz car bursted with the car somersaulting three times before it hit the victim, who was walking on the median of the road.

Speaking in the video, one of the eyewitnesses, ” The car somersaulted three times after the driver lost control due to a tyre burst and hit the pedestrian.
“The car had two occupants and they only sustained minor injuries. Following the accident, the two people inside the car came out and rushed the victim to the hospital.
“The effect of the accident might have been more than that if there were no street lights on the median of that road. It was one of the street lights that prevented the car from hitting the motorcycle riders who parked by the roadside.”
Meanwhile, Mr Isaac Haastrup, a media aide to Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup who earlier posted the video of the accident, in an updated post, said the victim had died.
Commenting on Haastrup’s post, a Facebook user, Olatunji Osungbure, who claimed he knew the victim, also confirmed his death.
Osungbure said the victim was one of his church members.
The Federal Road Safety Commission and the police have not released an official statement on the accident as of the time of filing this report.
