Three members of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN), have been arrested for allegedly aiding multiple kidnapping operations linked to Fulani bandits in Kwara.

The arrested Fulani leaders were aged over 60.

The suspects face allegations of sponsoring bandit groups terrorising the region.

They were also alleged to have confessed to aiding various kidnappings and supporting criminal networks across the state.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that terrorists had intensified attacks in some local governments in the state, including Ifelodun, Edu and Patigi, forcing governments to strengthen surveillance to arrest the situation.

Recent coordinated military air strikes in the affected local governments led to the destruction of several camps and killing of many suspected bandits.

Meanwhile, the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq-led government, on Wednesday, announced a 24-hour curfew across the entire Oro-Ago District in the Ifelodun LGA, effective from 6am.

It added that the restriction was aimed at putting terrorists in disarray and supporting an ongoing security clearance operation in the area.

When contacted, a spokesperson for Miyetti Allah promised to get back with details as soon as possible.
