‘Alàkísà To Oun Jó Lòru’, Makinde Rebukes Wike Over Comment On Oyo PDP
Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has replied the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike over his comments that he is interested in happenings within the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.
OSUN DEFENDER reports that Wike on Monday stated that he is closely following events within the PDP in Oyo, explaining that his attention to the situation is rooted in his concern for the continued existence and strength of the party, which previously governed at the federal level.
According to him, his ongoing observation of developments in the Oyo State chapter is motivated by his commitment to seeing the party thrive.
“Let me declare my interest clearly: I am interested in the survival and success of this party. I am also interested in all the happenings in Oyo State PDP. That is all I am interested in,” he said.
But Makinde while replying on Tuesday, described Wike and his supporters as ‘vagabonds’ in the PDP who have been expelled by the party.
Makinde questioned what the FCT Minister has done for the PDP in Rivers State where he hails from before pocknosing in the affairs of the party in Oyo.
He said “In Yorubaland, we always say “If you see a house or a peaceful compound, the vagabond in that house has not grown up. The vagabonds in the PDP, they grew up in 2015, they had their time and 10 years, they practise their vagaboncy in the PDP but they were expelled in November 2025. So, no more vagabonds in the PDP.
“Someone said he has interests in the activities of the PDP in Oyo State, help me ask the person what he has done for the PDP in Rivers State where he comes from?
“The song I will use for them is “Omo Alakisa tohun jo lo ru, mo pe boya Ile a mo basin”, they are wearing rags dancing around in the midnight, the day will soon break for them.”
