Two Men Arraigned Over Alleged Malicious Damage, Theft, Sexual Touch Without Consent

Two men, Ebenezer Olarinmoye (28) and Akin Odunayo (24), have been arraigned by the Ekiti State Police Command before a Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ado-Ekiti over alleged cases of malicious damage, theft, and sexual touching without consent involving two women.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendants, on February 3, 2026, at about 6:00 a.m. in Ado-Ekiti, conspired to maliciously damage an iPhone 11 handset valued at N350,000, belonging to one Adedeji Abike, and also allegedly touched her sexually without her consent.

Inspector Oriyomi further alleged that the defendants stole one Sekonda wristwatch valued at N40,000, three bundles of N200 notes, property of one Lawrence Faith, and also sexually touched her without consent.

Other items allegedly stolen include one gold earring valued at N35,000, a bracelet valued at N10,000, hair valued at N35,000, and a pair of sunglasses valued at N31,000.

The prosecutor stated that the offences are punishable under Sections 421, 363, 269(1), 302, and 185 of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendants, Barrister Adunni Olanipekun, urged the court to grant bail to his clients, assuring the court that they would not jump bail.

In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.

The case was adjourned until February 23, 2026, for hearing.
