Makinde’s Minna Meeting With Atiku Not Political – Oyo PDP Spokesman
The spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Micheal Ogunsina, has dismissed speculation that Governor Seyi Makinde is planning to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), insisting that the party’s internal crisis would be resolved within weeks.
Speaking on a radio political programme on Saturday, Ogunsina described the situation within the PDP as a temporary internal wrangling that would soon be settled.
He said all pending litigations are expected to be concluded by March in line with the directive of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
“We are very close to the end of this imbroglio because we will be done with the court cases within the next two to three weeks,” he said, affirming the party’s readiness to contest and win the 2027 general elections.
Ogunsina maintained that the Turaki-led executive remains the recognised leadership in the state and dismissed claims that Makinde’s recent meeting with former Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, in Minna was politically motivated.
He urged members to remain focused, assuring that the PDP would emerge stronger ahead of 2027.
