Bandits Threaten Attack on Three Kwara Communities
Bandits have issued a notification of a planned attack on Ira, Inaja and Aho communities in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The letter, attributed to a group calling itself the Nigeria Terrorists Association (NTA), was reportedly found at Ira market, causing panic among residents and prompting heightened alertness from security agencies.
According to the letter, the group claimed to have moved from Kaiama in Kwara North Senatorial District to Oyun in Kwara South, warning that they “shall be coming to attack Ira town, Inaja, and Aho village anytime soon.”
A security source said the Nigerian Army’s Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Ilemona is playing a key role in patrolling the threatened communities, alongside other security personnel.
OSUN DEFENDER recalls that security forces successfully repelled a bandit attack on Share, headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area, on Sunday.
The gunfight lasted about an hour, but no casualties or abductions were reported.
