Aiyedatiwa’s Media Aides Resign Over Alleged Poor Funding

Aiyedatiwa’s Media Aides Resign Over Alleged Poor Funding

Two senior media aides to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, have resigned their appointments with immediate effect, citing concerns linked to alleged poor funding and unfavourable working conditions.

OSUN DEFENDER reports that the development saw Taiwo Ilesanmi Gbamila step down from his role as Senior Special Assistant on Multimedia, while Olu Gbenga Abire resigned as Special Assistant on Media.

In a resignation letter dated February 16, 2026, Gbamila expressed appreciation to the governor for the opportunity to serve, stating that he was respectfully tendering his resignation from the appointment.

Sources indicated that the exits may not be isolated, as other media appointees were reportedly considering a collective resignation over what they described as poor treatment and inadequate funding of their operations.

The sources further alleged that dissatisfaction within the media team stemmed from claims that key decisions in the administration were being influenced by a small group of power brokers.

There has been no official response from the state government regarding the allegations as of the time of filing this report.
