Ogun APC Asks Party Executives To Resign Govt Appointments

The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has directed party executives holding statutory government appointments to resign or forfeit their party positions.

The directive, issued by the party’s spokesman, Femi Nuberu, warned that occupying dual roles within government and the party structure contravenes the APC constitution and undermines internal discipline and the principle of separation of responsibilities.

Nuberu explained that the decision was not aimed at victimising affected members but intended to safeguard the integrity of the party’s organisational framework and ensure strict adherence to constitutional provisions.

Party sources indicated that the directive could affect dozens of officials, particularly those serving as Secretaries to Local Governments (SLGs), Supervisors, Special Advisers, Consultants, and Secretaries of Local Government Education Authorities.

According to the party, any affected official who wishes to remain an executive member must formally resign their statutory appointment and forward such letters to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the Local Government Service Commission for processing.
