A member of the House of Representatives, Inuwa Garba, representing Yamaltu-Deba Federal Constituency, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He was received on Thursday by Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, and formally presented his APC membership card, signalling his full integration into the party.

Garba said his decision was influenced by Governor Yahaya’s people-centred policies and track record across the state, as well as the reform-driven Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

He described the APC as a credible, stable and development-focused platform capable of delivering sustainable growth, inclusive governance, and lasting prosperity.

“The APC represents the future of progressive governance in Nigeria. I am convinced that under the leadership of Governor Inuwa Yahaya and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our people will continue to enjoy meaningful development,” Garba said, pledging his loyalty and total commitment to the party.

Governor Yahaya welcomed Garba into the APC, commending his courage and responsibility to his constituents.

He said the defection reflects confidence in the APC’s performance in Gombe and validates the administration’s development-focused governance, anchored on infrastructure renewal, human capital development, economic diversification and inclusive growth.

Yahaya, who was recently appointed by President Tinubu as Renewed Hope Ambassador and Secretary for Party Outreach, Engagement and Mobilisation, described Garba’s move as a significant political gain that will strengthen the APC’s position in Gombe ahead of future elections.
