Former Deputy Governor May Emerge Oyo APC Chairman
Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, is poised to emerge as the new chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
A party source disclosed on Monday that Adeyemo is the frontrunner ahead of the state congress scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan.
“His Excellency, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo, is likely to emerge as the new chairman of Oyo APC,” the source said.
Adeyemo, an indigene of Igboho in Oorelope Local Government Area, served as deputy governor under the late former governor, Abiola Ajimobi, from 2011 to 2019.
His anticipated emergence is viewed by party faithful as a strategic step to reposition the APC ahead of future political contests.
Earlier, stakeholders approved a zoning arrangement following consultations across the 33 local government areas. The zoning committee is chaired by Alhaji Fatai Ibikunle, with Afeez Bolaji Repete as secretary.
