Nigeria Police Force Removes Hundeyin as PRO
The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has relieved ACP Benjamin Hundeyin of his duties as Force Public Relations Officer, exactly six months after he assumed the position.
According to THE WHISTLER, the approval for his removal began on Thursday, March 5, 2025, though details surrounding the decision remain unclear.
The move comes amid a series of internal reshuffles within the police hierarchy, less than 24 hours after Tunji Disu was inaugurated as the substantive Inspector-General of Police by President Bola Tinubu.
Disu was appointed last week as the 23rd IGP following the removal of Kayode Egbetokun, who had led the Force since 2023.
A top source confirmed Hundeyin’s removal to THE WHISTLER, stating, “The Force Public Relations has been removed this morning.”
The source added, “We don’t know who will take over from him, although we thought he would last longer given his expertise. When a new IGP is appointed, it is common for some positions to be vacated, and unfortunately, he was affected.”
The Badagry-born ACP was appointed Force Public Relations Officer by former IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
