Hoodlums Disrupt PDP Congresses In Oyo, Allegedly Attack Wike-Led Faction Members
Suspected political thugs on Saturday disrupted local government congresses organised by a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) loyal to Nyesom Wike in Oyo State.
The party in the state is currently divided into two factions, with one group aligned with Wike and the other loyal to the state governor, Seyi Makinde.
The Wike-aligned faction had scheduled its local government congresses across the state on Saturday.
However, the exercise was reportedly disrupted when suspected hoodlums stormed some of the venues and attacked party members.

Sources said about 10 persons were assaulted during the attacks, while several vehicles belonging to party supporters were vandalised.
Chairman of the Wike-aligned faction in the state, Professor Abdulrahman Akinoso, confirmed the incident, saying the attacks occurred in several local government areas, including Ibadan North, Ogbomoso South, Ibarapa Central and Akinyele.
He added that three vehicles were vandalised at Gbolarumi House on Are Avenue in Bodija, Ibadan North, while several party members sustained injuries.
