Fédération Royale Marocaine de Football (FRMF) has acknowledged the ruling of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Appeal Board following the controversial 2025 AFCON final.

In a statement on its official website, the federation said its appeal sought to ensure the proper application of competition rules, not to question the sporting merit of any team.

“The Federation reiterates that its approach has always been grounded in respect for the rules and stability of African competitions,” the statement read.

FRMF also praised all participating nations, describing the tournament as an important milestone for the development of African football.

The federation said a detailed position would be released after a meeting of its governing bodies scheduled for Wednesday, which will outline its stance and any potential legal or administrative steps.

The CAF Appeal Committee’s ruling has sparked debate over governance and regulatory consistency in African football, with stakeholders calling for clearer rules and more transparent decision-making across CAF competitions.
