A Mother and Child Health Centre in Ila-Orangun, Osun State has been abandoned seven months after its completion, OSUN DEFENDER reports.
According to a Non-Governmental Organization, Tracka, a sum of N26,400,000 was in September 2024 paid to June 36 Integrated Services Ltd for the construction of the facility and supply of basic drugs.
However, in a picture seen by OSUN DEFENDER, the multimillion facility is totally abandoned since its completion in August 2025.
Tracka wrote: “In Sept 2024, N26.4m was paid to June 36 Integrated Services Ltd for the Construction of a Mother and Child Health Centre and Supply of Basic Drugs in Ila-Orangun, Ila LGA, Osun State.
“We saw that the facility was completed but has not been opened for use since August 2025.
A multimillion-dollar health facility just sitting unequipped and unused!
‘We call on the Federal College of Horticulture, Dadin-Kowa, Gombe, the implementing agency, to provide the public with details of this project and facilitate its staffing so that this facility can be operational.”
However, the state Commissioner for Health, Barr Jola Akintola, told OSUN DEFENDER that the project is yet to be handed over to the state government.
“I am not aware. It has not been handed over to us,” he said.
