Olufon Installs Princess Akinyooye As Yeye Oge Of Ifon-Osun

The Olufon of Ifon-Orolu Kingdom in Orolu Local Government Area of Osun State, Oba Peter Ipadeola, has installed Princess Oluwatoyin Aderonke Akinyooye as the Yeye Oge of Ifon-Osun.

The ceremony which took place on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, at the Olufon’s palace amid pomp and fanfare attracted dignitaries including traditional rulers across the country and diaspora.

Among them were His Royal Majesty, Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, the Timi of Ede; and His Royal Majesty, AbdulRasheed Ayotunde Olabomi, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, alongside several other distinguished monarchs and high chiefs.

The installation rites, conducted in strict adherence to age-long customs and ancestral protocols, commenced immediately after the Ọ̀sẹ̀ Ọ̀batálá rites, as the ceremony coincided with the sacred observance of Ọ̀sẹ̀ Ọ̀batálá.

The rites and prayers were performed by chiefs, traditional priests, and palace functionaries.

Addressing the gathering, Oba Ipadeola, extolled the virtues of the new Yeye Oge, describing her as a worthy ambassador of the kingdom whose character, grace, and commitment to communal advancement distinguished her for the honour bestowed upon her.

Following the installation ceremony, Oba Ipadeola led traditional rulers and other dignitaries to the newly completed residence of the Yeye Oge, to perform the house commissioning.

The events concluded with a grand reception at a popular hotel in Ifon-Osun where guests from all walks of life; first-class traditional rulers, senior advocates, top government functionaries, high-ranking security officers, captains of industry, and socialites, gathered in a convivial atmosphere of joy and celebration.
