Ife Flyover: Adeleke Warns Contractor Over Delay, Flags Off Road Reconstruction In Modakeke
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has expressed dissatisfaction with the slow pace of work on the Ile-Ife flyover, tasking the contractor to hasten up the construction.
The governor who made an on-site inspection on Tuesday, questioned the attitudes of the contractor to the project, warning that the state government would not accept any further delay on the completion date by the end of April.
“I am dissatisfied with the slow pace of work on this project. This is totally unacceptable. We will not tolerate any further delay. I have promised our father, the Oonirisa and the people of Ile Ife of early completion. There should be no room for any further delay”, a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed quoted Adeleke as warning.
The statement further said the governor, before inspecting the ongoing flyover bridge had earlier flagged off the rehabilitation of Gbalefefefe-Omi-Igbin-Koola-Asabi Famia Road in Modakeke.
Adeleke said his administration was embarking on the road rehabilitation in response to the yearnings and aspirations of Modakeke people.
He noted that his administration had already completed the rehabilitation of Celestial – Ajape road and Ap – Oronna road within Modakeke.

“The details of roads flagged off today include Gbalefefe – Omi Igbin – Koola-Asabi Famia Road Modakeke (Phase 1 and 2) – 3km; spot patching and rehabilitation of Itasin – Famia junction – Oke Bode, 2.53km; and complete overlay from Mayfair roundabout – Iraye – Ondo road Junction,” the statement noted.
“My good people of Modakeke, I am here again to deliver the dividends of democracy. We are a government that brings verifiable developments across all facets of life”, the governor told the cheering crowd.
In his remarks, the Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Joseph Toriola, appreciated the governor for his full attention to the developmental needs of the town, assuring that his people will show appreciation at the right moment.
“We commend Mr Governor for this new initiative. On behalf of sons and daughters of Modakeke, we assure you of our continuous support now and in the future. Mr Governor, you are a major ally and supporter of Modakeke people in our developmental journey”, the royal father noted.
