Four Arrested for Defrauding Retired General of N150m Using Wike’s Name

The police have arrested four individuals for allegedly defrauding a retired military officer of N150 million by falsely claiming connections with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

One of the suspects, Yashim Kajang, was apprehended on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, for allegedly cheating Major General A.K. Ibrahim (rtd) and other victims in a supposed land transaction in Guzape II Cadastral Zone, Abuja.

According to a statement on We’d by the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Kajang convinced the victims that he had links with the FCT Minister and the Director of Lands, collecting money under the pretext of securing land documents for Plot 1985 in Guzape II, measuring three hectares, among other plots.

Kajang reportedly identified his accomplices as Stephen Mhambe and Danladi Jatau, staff of the Urban and Regional Planning Department of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, and Terngu Ipaven of No. 2 Chief Palace Road, Durumi 2, Abuja.

He confessed that the trio supplied him with land data used in the fraudulent deal.

Olayinka said all four suspects are currently under investigation.
