The South West Youth Mobilization Team of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has intensified efforts to galvanize grassroots support for the party’s governorship candidates in Ekiti and Osun States ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
Speaking during a strategic mobilization engagement, the South West Zonal Coordinator, Prince Babatunde Adewumi, emphasized the critical role of youth participation in shaping the political future of the region.
He noted that the ADC remains committed to providing credible leadership alternatives anchored on transparency, accountability and inclusive governance.
Prince Adewumi highlighted that the youth wing of the party has embarked on coordinated outreach campaigns across communities in both states, aimed at sensitizing voters on the party’s agenda and encouraging active civic participation.
According to him, the initiative seeks to harness the energy and numerical strength of young people to drive meaningful political change.
He further stressed that the ADC governorship candidates in Ekiti and Osun States represent a new generation of leadership capable of addressing key developmental challenges, including unemployment, infrastructure deficits, and economic growth.
“The future of our democracy lies in the hands of young people. We are mobilizing, organizing, and empowering youths to take ownership of the electoral process and support candidates who truly represent their interests,” Adewumi stated.
Political observers note that youth-driven mobilization efforts have become increasingly significant in Nigeria’s evolving democratic landscape, particularly in the South West region, where voter awareness and participation continue to rise.
The ADC’s renewed grassroots strategy is expected to strengthen its visibility and competitiveness in both Ekiti and Osun, as parties intensify preparations for the governorship elections.
