Osun ADC Slams False Statement Linked to Aregbesola
The Osun State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed as false a widely circulated statement attributed to former governor of the state, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, describing it as misleading and a deliberate attempt to misinform the public.
In a public disclaimer issued on Friday, Oluwaseun Abosede, Chairman of the party’s Directorate of Media and Publicity, said the statement, which claimed that Aregbesola said, “APC leaders are willing to beg me, but it’s too late for them. I will do my worst,” did not emanate from him.
The statement alleged that the quote was fabricated by “low-level political actors and mischief makers” seeking to create tension and score cheap political points.
According to the party, such actions are aimed at sowing discord within the political space and misleading unsuspecting members of the public.
The ADC maintained that Aregbesola remains committed to responsible leadership and principled engagement, stressing that he would not be distracted by what it described as baseless propaganda.
It urged the public to disregard the alleged quote and rely only on verified statements from Aregbesola’s official communication channels.
