2026: Osun Monarchs Reminisce On Aregbesola’s Legacies

The Ola of Ajagunlaase, Oba Ismaila Gbadamosi and Olobaagun of Obaagun, Oba Jimoh Adebisi Okunade, in Ola-Oluwa and Ifelodun Local Government Areas respectively have recalled how the communities are still benefiting from projects done by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

The two referred monarchs made this known during a separate visit by the governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress, Dr. Najeem Salaam to their palaces recently.

According to Oba Gbadamosi, Aregbesola’s impactful projects in Ajagunlaase is unprecedented and still relevant and beneficial to the community till today.

The monarch said “the road that lead to the community secondary school was in a deplorable condition and not motorable before Aregbesola came to our rescue to fix it.

“It was something we value so much. On the day of my coronation, the Chief Imam of this town mentioned it in Aregbesola’s presence that he had written his name on the heart of the people of the community. Therefore, we are grateful to him for the project,” he added.

The monarch further mentioned that Aregbesola ran the most transparent government in the history of the state.e said: “Aregbesola ran a transparent government during his administration in Osun State. He never for once bypassed the House of Assembly on any policy or step he wanted to take.”

Also, the Olobaagun of Obaagun, Oba Okunade was stunned when Salaam disclosed that Aregbesola will soon accompany him to visit the monarch when the campaign fully start.

The monarch who described Aregbesola as Omoluabi revealed how the former Governor assisted in the renovation of his palace.

“The renovation of this palace is the revelation of Aregbesola’s good work. He complained about its bad state when he visited me some years back and he took it upon himself to renovate it. To me, he is Omoluabi,” he said.
