ADC Releases List Of Members Expelled For ‘Anti-Party’ At Abuja Convention

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) faction led by former Senate President David Mark, has released a full list of 11 members of the party expelled at its National Convention held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at the Rainbow Event Centre, Garki, Abuja.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the expulsions were carried out after the adoption of a disciplinary motion against individuals found to have acted contrary to the party’s constitution and core values.

“The affected individuals cease to be members of the African Democratic Congress with immediate effect,” Abdullahi said.

“They are now at liberty to explore other political platforms, and any political party willing to receive them is free to do so.”

The list of expelled members includes the party’s factional national chairman, Nafiu Bala Gombe, and a House of Representatives member, Leke Abejide.

Others are the party’s former deputy national chairman, Kenneth Ehiator, Mr. Kingsley Temitope Ogga, Mr. Don Norman Obinna, Mr. Kennedy Odion, Mr. Clement Ehigiator, Mrs. Stella Chukwuma, Patrick Ambut, Johny Tovie Derek, Duke Dick, and Elias Adikwu.

According to Abdullahi, the disciplinary action was ratified by delegates during the convention and reflects ADC’s “unwavering commitment to discipline, internal democracy, and the rule of law.”

The party insisted that it would continue to uphold “the highest standards of accountability” as it seeks to consolidate its position as a credible political alternative for Nigerians.

Earlier, Senator Binos Yaroe who represents Adamawa South, moved the motion for their expulsion of the party members on the floor of the convention, which was promptly seconded and adopted by delegates in attendance.

The expelled members were accused of engaging in activities considered detrimental to the unity and progress of the ADC, amid an escalating leadership crisis that has split the party into rival factions.

The development comes as the ADC continues to battle internal disputes over control of its national structure, with competing claims to legitimacy between factions loyal to David Mark and other party stakeholders.
