Islamic Group Provides Free Medical Services, Scholarship To Osun People
An Islamic organisation, Daaru-r-Rahmat Society (DARMAT), says it provided free medical support to over 500 residents of Osun State.
The group noted that apart from the free medical services, it also provided education scholarship, and other welfare initiatives worth ₦5 million to the less privileged in 2025.
The National Ameer of the society, Sheikh Misibaudeen Olawale, disclosed this on Monday in Osogbo while presenting the organisation’s activity report for the year 2025.
Olawale said that the group medical team with the support of some doctors provided care for residents with high blood pressure, infertility and abdominal pain among others.
He noted that DARMAT also supported widows, trained women in crafts to reduce dependence on their husbands, and provided business grants to members and the general public.
“Apart from sharing the teachings and principles of Islam and engaging in prayers, Daaru-r-Rahmat Society is concerned about the well-being of its members and society at large,” he said.
“We have established several initiatives that serve as opportunities, welfare support, and guidance for the people. We provide support for at least 35 people weekly and not less than 500 residents benefited from our four-week medical outreach.
“In 2025, 38 women benefited from our free skill acquisition training programmes. Many people received free medical screening, and free NECO and WAEC forms were distributed to the less privileged. All these efforts amounted to over ₦5 million,” Olawale stated.

The Ameer added that the society’s scholarship programme had produced four graduates, while others who acquired skills through the training programmes were now self-reliant.
He also appreciated the heads of security agencies in the state for providing security for the group and reiterated the society’s commitment to helping the less privileged.
“I want to appreciate the security agencies in the state for their constant support. We will continue to collaborate with them and not relent in our efforts to help those in need,” the Ameer noted.
Olawale urged “well-to-do individuals to support the vulnerable and contribute positively to society.”
